Ant (32" x 48", oil on masonite) -
Done in the early 1960s, this ant has the kind of view
of its inner self that Mary liked to show in many of her
animal paintings. The mountainous rocks in the background
convey a certain mysteriousness, and the ubiquitous Light
is visible just beyond.
