                      Camel (19" x 16") - The largest
of Mary's mosaics, this camel shows how Mary
learned from the Romans how to use different
                      colored stones to produce shading.
Camels figured strongly in Mary's art, along
with elephants and whales.  She simply
loved their ungainly bodies, slobbery lips,
and soulful eyes.  This mosaic was
mounted in a wrought iron frame to make a
                      small coffee table.
