Lacondona Lady - The Lacondones are a group
of Mexican Native Americans in the Chiapas region.
Mary learned about them on her trip to Mexico in 1960:

"I never saw one.  I heard stories about them.
This is another one I kind of dreamed up, but I had
postcards of pictures of them, and there was something
so ethereal and yet foreign, wild, different, separate,
that I wanted to catch.  But also very
approachable.  It was when I was just getting
		      into faces."
