                  Red Eft

                  - Red efts held a special place on Mary's list of favorite
creatures.  She often marvelled at their brilliant
color and delicate features, and also their apparent
audacity as they set out across the roads
of Yelping Hill on rainy days.  In many ways they
were a complete embodiment of "woodsiness" to her.
