                  Shark (41" x 47", acrylic on
canvas) -  Mary found sharks fascinating,
and her bone collection included several shark
jaws.  This painting was done in the mid to
late 1960s, near the peak of her
                  animals-with-bones period.  She revisited
the shark theme later with an impressive painting
of a meditating Tibetan monk in the center of a
                  gaping shark jaw.
