Ichneumon (31" x 42", ink and
watercolor, with plant collage) - Ichneumons are
a variety of wasp that have long abdomens,
graceful antennae, and large wings. In this
painting, Mary seems to have tried to relate the
beauty of the insect to the woodsy ferns and
other plants of its environment. |
